Whole-y Dance

Flash Fiction Story by Phylicia Robinson

She stepped out gracefully, full of hope, free of thought, and full of motivation. Knowing that doing even the seemingly mundane things can lead to bliss. Dancing on a magical stream of fairy dust, she pirouetted through each segment of her day. Reminding herself of the power in each and every small step, she danced. She is assured that every moment of her life up to that point strengthened her to perform as she does in her present. She is gifted with so much that she is beginning to discover. Pat-tat-tat. Pat-tat-tat. Pow!

Freestyled choreography delivered with confidence gained from her own self-discovery. She jumps off her floating stream onto the solid wooden stage. Tap-Tap-Tap. Click-Tap. Click-Tap!

Firmly planted, she strikes the ground. Delivering vibrations. Delivering Sound. Tap-Tap-Tap. Tap-Click-Click-Tap. Moved by her ancestors and following their guide, she tap dances knowing that each step is profound.

Oh, the fun she is having going about her day. Lying in bed. Sipping the coffee. Cooking breakfast. Going to work. Smooth transitions. Staying present. Seeing the play in the day.

The birds visit her and ride alongside her car. At each stop, they display just how connected and synchronized they are. They tweet. They dash. They sing. They join in her merriment as she does her thing. She feels so adored, so loved, so meant to be. The sun shines on her chin, letting her know she’s all three.

The whole moment is so beautiful, now sailing through the streets. Under canopies of trees, on new inspiring roads, uncertain what or who she’ll meet, and open to what flows. Her eyes have a new perspective now, seeing through the eyes of Love. The Love inside. The Love all around, embracive and so snug.

As she shifts toward the final chapters of her day, she turns West and meets the sun. The most beautiful sunset she’s ever seen. She feels it’s there just for her. So majestic, so beyond words, only feelings of overwhelming joy. Worthiness fills her like never before. As the rays feed her gaze, she feels restored. The power of the Sun felt from within. Sacral & Solar Plexus begin to spin. Spin. Spin. Spin! Twirl. Twirl. Twirl! Illuminate! Wings, unfurl! Soar from the sky to the depths within.

She dives into the water, synchronized head to toe. All aspects of herself display in all their forms, operating in instinctive flow. All is One, expressed as many. Splish. Splash. Swoosh!

The final act. Applause. She swims her final stretch of the day to the place that brings her pause. The place that she calls home. Her place of rest and restoration. The incubator for her second birth, just as she had one for her first. The optimal conditions provided for her to return to Whole.
