The Little Things

Poem by Kaval Naine

From strangers to friends
Same rope, different ends
Stealing glances from across the room
Hoping I’ll get to talk to you soon
The way you sometimes make my blood rush
The cute way you try to hide your blush
Your calm vibe and interesting style
Are the little things that make me smile

Those who have been by my side
Through the lows and the highs
Mini parties in the middle of the night
Singing and dancing with colored lights
Waiting hungrily on a queue
All the trouble we got into
How we frustrated many staff
Are the little things that let me laugh

A simple hug can make my day
Or walks in the garden in the middle of May
Passionate writers and white hat hackers
Vanilla ice-cream mixed with crackers
Singing along to my favorite movies
Practicing new songs and choreographies
Maybe seeing a certain boy
moAre the little things that give me joy

There are little things that make me smile
Even if only for a little while
There are little things that let me laugh
Remembering little occasions from my past
There are little things that give me joy
Give a little reason to create, not destroy
The many blessings God has given
Are the little things that make life worth living
