Meeting In The Dark

Poem by Nkocy Kingie

Amidst rock and tree, bird and beast,
Along a path so clear under the moon,
Parasites devour a rare strange feast,
One that evaded all since the light of noon.

A kiss in hypnosis and a hug in emotion,
Eyes glow into each other like fireflies,
The world outside is swept away by erosion,
And in love they see how fast time flies.

All is so wrong yet it seems justified,
Where can two be two in a world of ticks?
Two consummate minds caring yet petrified
By the thought of parents and cane sticks.

Nkocy Kingie is a middle-aged, free-thinking soul driven by the greater desire to see a more serene and peaceful world.
