Halloween

Poem by Lynette Murry

Horrifying ghosts, vampires, and witches,
skipping quickly down Hickory Lane.
Young Frankenstein covered in stitches,
Chewing on chocolate covered brains.
Angels, demons, and black cats,
With a treasure trove of treats.
Darting around like hyper rats,
From house to house for sweet meats.
Once again, it's that time of year,
For specters and rituals of the night.
But dismiss your spontaneous bouts of fear,
They'll be done and gone by mornings light.

Having gained her Master Of Fine Arts Degree In Creative Writing and English with a Concentration in Poetry, Lynette had three poems published in Academy Of Hearts and Minds.
