Treasure Hunt

Poem by G. Lynn Brown

And laughing seagulls
Create the soundtrack of the day

Sand between my toes
And in my hair

A plastic pail
And matching shovel

Digging clam shells
Most are broken
But a few are flawless

The treasures of an 8-year-old
