A Haibun Poem by Barbara Anna Gaiardoni

Hold on tight because the emptiness that takes your breath away comes at night. And there is a musician who still plays his clarinet while the wind gets nice in the street lamp’s light. The scene is cheerful, I smell summer, I want to pack bags. The ocean calls me and will soon call you. I have no idea why it chose me. I know it’s like a mother that likes to comfort her children.

Winner of the First Prize 2023 “Zheng Nian Cup National Literature Price.” From September 2022 to today, she has been published in seventy – four international journals. Her works are been translated into Japanese, Romanian, Arabic, Malayalam, Hindi, French, and in Spanish languages.
