Elixir

Micropoem by Joseph Farina

my sunrise companion
rests silently on my table
its blackheart tinged in foam
swirls of steamed air rising
visions in its trails
as I drink its bitter sweet brew
muses whisper
awakening with its magic
the gift of another day
