Metaverse ‘22

Poem by Jacob R. Moses

In the year 2222...
landscapes of the willows
remained pristine
as a genesis crafted
around an ancient ash

Lightning struck as a pentagram formed

Exploitation expired exponentially

All that tweeted
were birds

All that tumbled
were gymnasts

All that went tick tock
was the biological clock
of a synchronous
collective consciousness

Linked by the
psychic cords
installed through
metaphysical
architecture
no longer

The Empire of Emzuck
ended after non-consensually
copulating with contrived conflict

Descendants of dissonance
rebuilt civilization
two hundred years
after the mutiny
against the metaverse
