Moon

Quatrain by Thompson Emate

Twilight calls it out from its chamber,
It is awakened from its slumber,
It graces the night sky,
As it rides high.

The glamour of the night,
Crafted to give the evening light,
It stands on its stage,
As time turns the page.

It is surrounded by its companions,
They're the night champions,
They have been of old,
Until years untold.

The wonder of nature,
Seasons define its stature,
The sages call it a door to the deep,
It watches when we're asleep.

Thompson Emate spends his leisure time on creative writing, particularly poetry and prose. He has a deep love for nature and the arts. His poems can be seen in Poetry Soup, Poetry Potion, Visual Verse and Voice.club. He lives in Lagos, Nigeria.
