Written Tales is a community for writers who believe the work comes first. We publish poetry, short fiction, and short nonfiction based on merit, and we continue promoting the writers we publish.
Membership is required to submit.
Join Written Tales as a free member to submit your work. Free members make a minimum $5 contribution with each submission.
Paid members submit without submission fees and receive additional member benefits, including writing challenges, a permanent Author Portfolio, promotion of published work, and access to the Written Tales archive and e-Magazines.

What We’re Looking For:
- Work grounded in specific, concrete imagery: pieces that show rather than tell, bringing the reader into a particular moment through vivid, tangible detail.
- Poetry, Short Fiction, or Short Non-Fiction (1,500 words max)
- No simultaneous submissions.
- Absolutely no AI-generated content.
Each accepted piece is featured in our newsletter and across our platforms. We publish one piece per email to give your work the spotlight it deserves.
